We have prepared a summary of the key aspects of the new Collective Civil Court Proceedings Act. 👇

As of July 1, 2024, a completely new law on collective civil court proceedings will come into effect. This law introduces the regulation of collective (class) actions, through which groups of consumers and entrepreneurs (meeting micro-enterprise criteria) can jointly assert their claims in court. The introduction of collective lawsuits aims primarily to strengthen the position of consumers and small entrepreneurs in disputes with businesses, where individual claims are often not pursued due to disproportionate costs relative to the claims.

Consumer Information
Under Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, as amended, consumers have the right to out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes arising from contracts for the provision of legal services.
The authorized body for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes between lawyers and consumers regarding contracts for legal services is the Czech Bar Association.
